Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with examination procedures and collecting medical histories.
- Perform basic clinical duties including vital sign monitoring, EKGs, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician and RNs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist with patient billing, insurance verification, and scheduling appointments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; CMA or RMA certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must be willing to obtain state licensure/certification within the required timeframe.
