Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and ensure comfort before examinations.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment; sterilize tools as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR), file medical records, and process insurance referrals.
- Lab Work: Collect blood samples and perform basic laboratory tests, following strict safety protocols.
- Communication: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and relay important information to patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience is preferred, but we welcome eager learners ready to train.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs comfortably.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records systems.
- Compliance: Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
