Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, assists with clinical procedures, and manages administrative duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify their information upon arrival in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with attire and positioning.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, EKGs, and blood draws, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring equipment is sanitized and ready.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and handling incoming phone calls.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- No prior experience necessary (Entry Level role with on-the-job training provided).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records software.
- Reliable transportation and a positive attitude.
