Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and check them in for appointments with a positive demeanor.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight) for every patient.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, including preparing instruments and explaining procedures.
- Lab Work: Perform basic lab tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain patient medical records electronically (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and waiting areas.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) is a plus but not required for this entry-level position.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and reach overhead.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professionalism: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to help others.
- License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
