Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, including preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature accurately.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as trained.
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up appointments and medication instructions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong desire to learn and grow within the healthcare field.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
