As a Medical Assistant, you will be the bridge between our patients and our medical providers, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Assistance: Assist providers during patient examinations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are prepared.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, answer phone calls, and update electronic health records (EHR) with precision.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens (blood, urine, etc.) and perform basic point-of-care testing as directed.
- Hygiene: Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize medical equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and patient instructions to both patients and the medical staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
- CPR/BLS certification is preferred; willing to obtain upon hiring.
