Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict safety protocols
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory
- Maintain sterile collection areas and equipment per OSHA guidelines
- Provide compassionate patient care during blood collection procedures
- Document patient information and test requisitions in electronic health records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain technical proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary
- Valid Texas CNA certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
