Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Process and label samples accurately according to laboratory protocols
- Perform patient registration and verify identification procedures
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism
- Document specimen collection and patient information in electronic health records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth workflow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must obtain Phlebotomy Technician certification within 6 months of hire (training provided)
- Valid Texas driver's license preferred
