Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient calls and in-person requests to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Direct patients to the appropriate medical department, specialist, or emergency services based on clinical triage protocols.
- Document patient symptoms, history, and triage decisions accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Provide patients with health education, medication instructions, and self-care guidance.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Identify potential health risks and escalate critical cases immediately to the on-call provider.
Qualifications
- Active RN, LPN, or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited institution.
- Must be a recent graduate or willing to undergo training; No prior experience required.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with medical software or EHR systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Nursing License in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR and BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
