Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses to treatments, alerting physicians to any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care and discharge planning.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to lift and transport patients and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.
