Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identification and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling according to CLIA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized phlebotomy station, utilizing the state-of-the-art equipment provided by the facility.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians to ensure accurate specimen collection.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
