Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures, including taking vital signs and medical history updates
- Assist dentists during complex procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Sterilize and maintain dental equipment per OSHA and CDC protocols
- Manage digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Execute infection control protocols and instrument processing
- Coordinate patient flow and maintain optimal operatory readiness
- Manage inventory ordering and supply chain management
Qualifications
- Certificate from accredited Dental Assisting program
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- X-ray certification and current BLS/CPR certification
- Mastery of dental software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft preferred)
- Excellent chairside demeanor and patient communication skills
- Proven infection control compliance record
- Ability to manage multiple procedures simultaneously
- New York State Dental Assistant license required
