Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging systems
- Manage patient charts and electronic health records (EHR) with precision
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide under dentist supervision
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient appointment scheduling
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed
Qualifications
- Current California Dental Assistant certification (RDA or RDAEF preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited institution
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft or similar practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-volume practice
- Positive attitude and commitment to continuing education
