Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials while maintaining strict sterilization protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow, including scheduling, charting, and post-operative instructions
- Implement infection control procedures exceeding OSHA and CDC standards
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
- Provide compassionate chairside support to anxious patients
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build patient trust
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- North Carolina Dental Assistant license in good standing
