Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient monitoring
- Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Manage sterilization and infection control procedures for all equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms, maintain inventory, and order dental supplies
- Take impressions and pour dental models for restorative procedures
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Manage digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or expanded functions permit (Oklahoma)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in radiography techniques and infection control standards
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and instrumentation
- Experience with digital charting systems (Dentrix preferred)
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage patient anxiety
