Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument transfer, suction, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop diagnostic dental X-rays with digital radiography systems
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and electronic health records
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Assist with dental laboratory procedures including pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or CDA) required
- Minimum 2 years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification (must maintain current status)
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft practice management software
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments and materials
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Colorado dental radiography permit preferred
