Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs and medical histories
- Assist dentists during procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining optimal visibility
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Perform sterilization and infection control protocols for all dental instruments and equipment
- Manage inventory and ordering of dental supplies and materials
- Document patient information and treatment plans accurately in our digital records system
- Provide post-procedure instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene techniques
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification from an accredited program (e.g., DANB)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental practice environment
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and safety protocols
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards (OSHA/CDC guidelines)
- Experience with digital dental records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to put patients at ease
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
