Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic work
- Manage patient records using digital systems like Eaglesoft and Dexis
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain OSHA compliance
- Take digital X-rays and perform intraoral photography
- Administer local anesthetics and nitrous oxide under dentist supervision
- Coordinate patient scheduling and insurance verification
- Train new staff on clinic protocols and infection control
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Dental Assistant certification or DANB eligibility
- 2+ years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
