Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and holding retractors, anticipating their needs.
- Maintain a sterile field for all surgical procedures and strictly adhere to aseptic technique.
- Monitor operating room environment for safety compliance and report any issues immediately.
- Document patient information, surgical procedures, and equipment usage accurately.
- Assist with specimen collection and transport to the laboratory.
- Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure a smooth workflow in the operating suite.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instruments, and sterilization processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and surgical documentation software.
