Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Manage patient records using digital charting systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Take accurate dental radiographs and perform chairside assisting duties
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
- Oversee inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and infection-controlled operatory environment
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-ray) and sterilization procedures
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and instrumentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification (must be current)
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Practice Management software
