Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for rejected claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Utilize Epic EHR system for coding and billing documentation
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Stay updated on coding changes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or specialty practice
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
- Ability to meet productivity targets in fast-paced environment
