Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform chairside duties such as instrument transfer, suction control, and patient repositioning
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA protocols
- Manage infection control through sterilization of equipment and maintenance of operatory hygiene
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and digital charting systems for efficient patient flow
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring under dentist supervision
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (Dexis/Sirona) practice management software (Epic/Dentrix)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or equivalent organization
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during flexible shifts
- Flexibility to cover evenings and occasional weekends based on patient needs
