Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Resolve billing discrepancies and claim denials
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and billing documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding payments
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Certification in CPC, COC, or CCS preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Athena, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with flexible hours
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with CMS-1500 forms and UB-04 billing
