Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for all services rendered
- Conduct thorough claim follow-ups and appeals for denied or underpaid claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation issues
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates, collection performance, and AR aging
- Utilize Epic EMR system for charge entry and revenue cycle management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory or hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficient with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft, or NextGen)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for patient and provider interactions
- Flexibility to work 20-30 hours/week with customizable schedule options
