Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone assessments of patient symptoms to determine medical urgency.
- Provide appropriate medical advice, home care instructions, and referrals to specialists or emergency services.
- Document patient interactions accurately and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Stay updated on clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure evidence-based triage.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with triage experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
