Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and specialized surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including harmonic scalpels, energy devices, and camera systems
- Count and manage all surgical supplies/instruments to ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain all provided surgical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
- Transport patients and equipment efficiently between operating rooms and recovery areas
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent military training certification
- Minimum 2 years experience in general surgery or specialty OR setting
- Proficiency in operating advanced surgical equipment provided (robotics, endoscopy, etc.)
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
