Responsibilities
- Assist in complex surgical procedures across specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular
- Maintain sterile fields and surgical equipment according to AORN standards
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on best practices
- Inventory and manage surgical supply chains to optimize OR efficiency
- Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff during critical procedures
- Implement quality improvement initiatives in surgical workflows
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 5+ years of experience in Level I trauma center OR
- Expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and instrument management
- BLS and/or ACLS certification
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
