Responsibilities
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers and follow up on outstanding accounts receivables
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service delivery
- Appear denials and rejections with supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Generate monthly aging reports and financial statements
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EMR and NextGen billing systems for claim processing
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic/NextGen preferred)
