Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA guidelines
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain processes with empathy
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Ensure all equipment is sterilized and properly maintained
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely test processing
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of anatomical landmarks and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
- Flexibility to work varied shifts (early mornings, evenings, weekends)
- Valid CPR certification
