Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize dental instruments per OSHA standards
- Take accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) and develop diagnostic images
- Manage patient flow, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Provide chairside support with suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient comfort measures
- Execute digital charting and manage practice management software efficiently
- Deliver post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene practices
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification (CODA/RDA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification and Texas dental radiography permit
- Proficiency in digital imaging systems (DEXIS/CS 3D) and Eaglesoft software
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to ease anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Spanish bilingual capabilities a significant plus
