Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration as directed by the nursing staff.
- Medication Management: Prompt clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses immediately.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks essential to patient care, such as changing linens, doing laundry, and vacuuming living areas.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and recreational activities to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs using proper transfer techniques.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Florida CNA license or Home Health Aide certification is required.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Driving: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required for client home visits.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical professionals.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; physical stamina to assist with patient transfers.
- Background: Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and functional capacity screening.
