Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chair-side during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all necessary materials are available before procedures.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) following safety protocols.
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Manage patient records, handle insurance verification, and assist with appointment scheduling.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene techniques.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Associate’s degree in Dental Assisting.
- Current Illinois Dental Assistant license (RDA) or eligibility to obtain.
- CPR and BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
- Previous experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work well in a fast-paced environment.
