Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications following strict safety protocols and state regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive pharmaceutical shipments, and maintain an organized, efficient storage area.
- Patient Assistance: Interact with patients to answer questions about medications, provide counseling where permitted, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims to ensure seamless transactions.
- Pharmacist Support: Assist the Lead Pharmacist with compounding, packaging, and quality control checks to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all prescriptions and patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification (or state license if applicable).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Technical: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Compliance: Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality laws.
