Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, to patients in their homes.
- Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation to ensure a safe and clean living environment.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff immediately.
- Transport patients to medical appointments and assist with mobility using walkers or wheelchairs.
- Administer prescribed medications and remind patients to take their medications on schedule.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients to enhance their quality of life.
- Document daily care activities and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Current state driverβs license and valid auto insurance are mandatory for travel to patient homes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
