Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Perform vital signs measurements and collect diagnostic specimens
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked
- Coordinate patient education and discharge planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Valid CPR certification
- Michigan state medical assistant license
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings/weekends
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance standards
