Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits across 200+ insurance plans
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct payer communication
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records (EHR)
- Analyze aging reports to optimize revenue cycle management
- Stay current with Hawaii-specific billing regulations and CMS updates
- Train new staff on billing protocols and compliance standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with Hawaii insurance carriers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with Epic EHR and NextGen practice management software
- Strong analytical skills for claim denial resolution
- Knowledge of Hawaii Medicaid (Med-QUEST) policies
