Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to patients. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions and maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately fill and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, including drug interactions and allergies, to ensure patient safety.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly counts.
- Process insurance claims and handle copayments efficiently.
- Prepare sterile compounding solutions and perform IV admixtures as required.
- Answer phone inquiries and assist customers with medication questions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, HIPAA, and medication safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude.
