Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
