Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Assist in preparing IV medications and sterile compounds under pharmacist supervision
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence instructions
- Maintain precise patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience in retail or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
