Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare medication orders for dispensing to patients.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review prescriptions for accuracy and completeness before dispensing.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with medication questions and provide excellent service at the pharmacy counter.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory logs.
- Assist Pharmacists: Support the pharmacist in maintaining patient records and compounding medications when necessary.
- Data Entry: Enter patient and medication information into the pharmacy management system efficiently.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong ability to focus on details to ensure medication safety.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is a plus.
