Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with aseptic techniques
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients to and from surgical suites while monitoring vital signs
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Nevada Surgical Technologist license
