Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) with advanced digital imaging technology
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures exceeding OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for efficient clinical workflows
- Delve patient education on post-operative care and oral hygiene best practices
- Maintain precise digital patient records and manage appointment scheduling
- Coordinate seamlessly with front desk staff to ensure seamless patient experiences
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assisting certification (DANB or NY State Board certified)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general or cosmetic dentistry
- Proficiency in dental software (Epic, Dentrix, or similar practice management systems)
- CPR/BLS certification with valid credentials
- Exceptional chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in instrument preparation and sterilization
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays (15-20 hours/week)
