Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens while maintaining chain of custody protocols
- Verify patient identities and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparations and aftercare
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless specimen workflow
Qualifications
- Current Virginia Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with proven track record
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
