Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic techniques
- Account for surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/during/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and prepare them for surgery
- Operate surgical equipment like cameras and sterilizers
- Document procedural details and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
