Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict sterile protocols to prevent infections
- Account for and sterilize all surgical instruments post-procedure
- Transport patients and specimens safely between departments
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical team to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Experience with electronic documentation systems
