Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions using systematic triage protocols to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Document clinical observations and patient histories accurately in EMR systems
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment protocols and home care instructions
- Monitor patient flow and communicate bed availability to department leadership
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or critical care experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR or similar electronic health record systems
- Strong assessment skills with ability to recognize subtle clinical changes
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and medical staff
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- BSN degree preferred (ADN accepted with relevant experience)
