Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership review
- Stay updated on evolving healthcare billing policies and payer requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical ethics
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with denial analysis and root cause resolution
