Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health status to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engaging conversation to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing to maintain a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social activities, or shopping trips as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Alaska.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care or a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Valid ID: Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods while performing caregiving duties.
