Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene as needed.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, using walkers, wheelchairs, or canes, and ensure the home environment is safe.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and monitor for any adverse reactions, reporting changes to the nurse or supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, or read to clients to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being.
- Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, making beds, and tidying up living areas to maintain a clean environment.
- Communication: Keep accurate records of daily activities and report any changes in the patient's condition to the nursing team immediately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: Required.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have access to a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
- CNA or HHA Certification: Preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, geriatric care, or a related field is a plus.
- Compassion & Empathy: A genuine desire to help others and the ability to treat patients with dignity and respect.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
