Responsibilities
- Process complex medical claims with 95%+ accuracy using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for insurance carriers
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Collaborate with physicians and coding specialists to optimize reimbursement
- Utilize Epic EHR and Medisoft systems for claim submission
- Analyze aging reports and implement collection strategies
- Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive financial data
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms
- Proficient in revenue cycle management software
- Strong analytical skills for claim denial analysis
- Excellent written communication for appeals documentation
- Ability to manage high-volume claim portfolios
- Experience with NY Medicaid and Medicare billing protocols
